Changemakers

Changemakers® is a community of action where we all have the opportunity to collaborate on solutions. We know we have the power to solve the world’s most pressing social problems and we have now developed a platform to allow for the exchange of information and ideas to make change. We’re already doing it, one project, and one idea at a time.

How do we do it? We talk about the issues, shares stories  , mentor, advise, encourage each other, and even engage in friendly competition . Changemakers® competitions bring people together from across the globe to address issues and turn our old systems upside down. Participants submit ideas, collectively identify the best social solutions, and then collaborate to refine, enrich, and implement those solutions.

Our mantra is Everyone a Changemaker™. Whatever your passions, however you want to make a difference, you will find a way to make it happen here. Changemakers® connects you to action because we are on the ground, making changes every day.

Current Changemakers® Initiatives

Ashoka Canada is launching Inspiring Approaches to First Nations, Inuit and Métis Learning. This Canada-focused initiative is looking for innovative and systems-changing projects in the field of Aboriginal Education. We are delivering this competition in partnership with the Counselling Foundation of Canada, RBC Foundation, J.W. McConnell Family Foundation, Martin Aboriginal Education Initiative, the Donner Canadian Foundation, Small Change Fund, North-South Partnership for Children and many other funding and community partners.

All of our programs contribute to Ashoka's vision and mission. They all convey the historical transformation of the citizen sector taking place and are building upon that understanding. None of our programs exist to provide services exclusively.
